The OverRead™ technology allows to recover a file from a CD/DVD disc even when one or more parts of the file are totally damaged and impossible to recover.

You can activate or deactivate the overhead option by pressing the OverRead™ switch button.

OverRead™ technology is recommended when it is impossible to recover all parts of a file, in those cases, the largest part of the file can be recovered while maintaining the file structure. Depending on the damaged parts of a file and the file size, high percentages of the original file can be recovered. e.g., a 2 Mb word processor file stored in a DVD-R disc with few damaged sectors, it is unrecoverable via Windows or other software in the market. With OverRead™ active, more of 99% of the original file can be recovered and fixed*. After that, user only have to retype a small part of the text, instead of retype all the unrecovered document again.

Please note that when the OverRead™ technology is active, the recovered file may be or may not be equal to the original file. Also the recovered files may need a repair before the applications recognize them.

This setting is not modified by any presetting, if you want to activate this setting you must press the OverRead™ switch button.

Therefore, the correct procedure to use OverRead™ is :

1. try to recover the data with 'extremely damaged discs' presetting. The CD/DVD disc must be perfectly cleaned.
2. If the result is 'ERROR', then activate OverRead™ technology.
3. Now, the data will be recovered in all cases.
4. The functionality of the result file will depend on the number and importance of the damaged sectors. Test the file. Our beta testers have verified that in a lot of cases, the result file has maintained his functionality.
